We would do well to be somebody’s sidekick. In Luke 18:14 Jesus compares the Pharisee, who thought of himself as the main character, to the tax collector, who humbly offered to submit himself to God.
Non-believers must go through the motions of daily living, totally in the dark as to why they are here and what their purpose is. No power available beyond themselves to get through adversity and challenge.
What are you known for? What have you dedicated your life to? Would you be called something like Sam the Servant Heart? Or maybe Cindy the Unselfish?
Much like breathing, we will find that we need Jesus to survive.

Try this: Next time somebody does or says something that flips your angry switch, force yourself to ponder Jesus, salvation, heaven, unconditional love, everlasting life, peace, stuff like that.
