Upon being introduced as Samford University’s 37th head football coach on Thursday (Dec. 4), John Grass vowed to construct championship-caliber teams that are tough and locally sourced.

Two new members have joined the Samford University board of trustees. Jay Love and Curt Stokes were elected during the university’s board of trustees meeting in September. Robert Holmes Jr. was appointed to a lifetime term on the board.

Rod Marshall, president and CEO of Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries, was named Humanitarian of the Year by Samford University. Marshall has devoted his career focus to child care and helping families seek God’s healing.
Revolving around the theme of “Persuasive Preaching: Story, Imagination and Apologetics,” the conference was organized by Beeson’s Robert Smith Jr. Preaching Institute’s Spirit and Power Project.
