Two new members have joined the Samford University board of trustees. Jay Love and Curt Stokes were elected during the university’s board of trustees meeting in September. Robert Holmes Jr. was appointed to a lifetime term on the board.
Aiming to expand Samford’s global footprint and create a unique work-and-serve cultural opportunity, the university announced the purchase of a new international study campus in Costa Rica.
Rod Marshall, president and CEO of Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries, was named Humanitarian of the Year by Samford University. Marshall has devoted his career focus to child care and helping families seek God’s healing.
Revolving around the theme of “Persuasive Preaching: Story, Imagination and Apologetics,” the conference was organized by Beeson’s Robert Smith Jr. Preaching Institute’s Spirit and Power Project.
“The work was hard, physically exhausting, but deeply meaningful,” said Keith Brown, director of Church and Community Ministries at the Shelby Baptist Association.
