SALISBURY, England — Representatives of the Baptist World Alliance (BWA) and the World Methodist Council (WMC) met March 14–21 for the last round of a four-year international dialogue between Methodists and Baptists.
The theme of the dialogue, which began in 2014, was Faith Working Through Love. During the last meeting participants prepared the Report and Study Guide to be presented to BWA and WMC for approval at their meetings in July. The four-year discussion covered the history and heritage of the two traditions, the nature of church, authority and their relation to the doctrines of justification and sanctification and other topics.
The meeting drew participants from around the world. Timothy George, founding dean of Beeson Divinity School at Samford University in Birmingham participated in the dialogue. (BWA)
