Gov. Kay Ivey is calling for eight weeks of paid maternity leave for Alabama teachers and state employees, a move that could make the state more competitive in recruiting and retaining workers.
In the 264 page report, the firm found provisions that raised “serious First Amendment concerns” regarding secrecy agreements amid ethics complaints, vagueness and due process concerns, and issues in who the ethics law applies to.
