For nearly two years, Pleasant Plains Baptist Church in Ashford has ministered to the laundry department at Southeast Health in Dothan, seeking to be the hands, feet and voice of Jesus to those who work there.
About a year and a half ago, Shirley Crowder said her church — Valley View Baptist in Leeds — found itself “with very few of us hanging on,” and the group remaining was skewing older. “We did not want this church to die,” Crowder said.
An Alaska Baptist pastor hopes to turn a 33-acre plot of land near his church into a camp and retreat center that will serve thousands of students and adults annually, and Alabama Baptists are already part of bringing that vision to life.
