Flatwoods Baptist Church – Senior Pastor Vacancy
Flatwoods Baptist Church is a warm, loving, and mission-minded Southern Baptist congregation with a rich history of serving our community. Located in a rapidly growing area of Northport, Alabama, we are a close-knit community church blessed with excellent facilities and a vibrant heart for ministry. We are prayerfully seeking a full-time, part-time or bi-vocational Senior Pastor to help us honor our deep roots, nurture our church family, and seize incredible opportunities to reach new residents in our expanding neighborhood. Our church fully affirms and aligns with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. As a mission-minded congregation, we faithfully support the Cooperative Program, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, and Operation Christmas Child.
Core Responsibilities
• Exemplary Leadership: Maintain a lifestyle, both publicly and privately, that serves as a faithful testimony for the Lord Jesus Christ and a positive reflection of Flatwoods Baptist Church.
• Preaching & Teaching: Plan and conduct all worship services, preparing and delivering engaging, Bible-based sermons. Lead weekly Bible studies, prayer meetings, and the observance of church ordinances.
• Pastoral Care: Shepherd the congregation through dedicated pastoral ministry, including hospital visitations, counseling, and caring for shut-ins and the sick.
• Administrative & Ministry Leadership: Provide administrative guidance across all areas of church life, serving as the chief administrator for the paid staff. Lead the church council in monthly calendar and program planning, moderate business meetings, and collaborate with deacons and ministry teams to establish goals.
• Community Engagement: Leverage our excellent facilities to build relationships, share the Gospel with the lost and bridge connections with our growing neighborhood.

• Education: A degree from a Southern Baptist seminary is preferred, though not required.
• Experience: Previous pastoral or associate pastoral experience is highly valued.
