Disappointed with comic

I am writing concerning the comic that ran concerning stealing a bike and asking for forgiveness.

I am disgusted. When I read the ‘comic,’ I immediately put myself in the place of a young boy reading it. If I were gullible and reading a publication by the denomination I belong to, I’d believe what it says! It says the best way to get what I want is to steal it, then just ask God for forgiveness and everything will be fine! It also suggests that God doesn’t answer prayers. These two statements are in direct conflict with the Word of God and you should be ashamed to have printed the comic.

I realize the effectiveness of humor and even enjoy good humor. However this is not humor. It is making light of a wonderful truth (prayer) about God. I only hope this comic has not had the damaging effect on children of which it is capable.

I suggest in the future you carefully choose your ‘comics’ to reflect godly values and which are or can be supported by Scripture.
