While sitting in the waiting room at Montclair Baptist Hospital March 7, I picked up The Alabama Baptist from the table. I was reading Sammy Gilbreath’s story (March 3 issue) when I realized this was a divine appointment.
Bro. Kenny Hess was already in surgery having a defibrillator put in to help jumpstart his heart when needed. He had already faced open heart surgery less than two years ago. He also had a pacemaker put in. March 7 the doctor didn’t give him much hope.
Our church, Trinity Baptist in Haleyville, family members and friends were praying and trusting a faithful God. Sammy Gilbreath’s testimony inspired and strengthened us. When I finished the wonderful article, I gave it to Deb Hess, Kenny’s wife, and told her to read it. I told her it was God-sent and to pass it on to Bro. Kenny.
Brother Kenny’s surgery went great. The article blessed him and his family. His wife, children and grandchildren are rejoicing that husband, Dad and Grandad is back home. We give God all the praise, for He alone is worthy. God bless Sammy Gilbreath for sharing what God did in his life — our prayers remain with you and your loved ones.
