ABUJA, Nigeria — Ongoing violence against Christians in Nigeria has claimed eight more lives, one of whom was the mother of a 2-month-old baby.
Oluwakemi Moses was killed when terrorists shot into her vehicle Nov. 17 on Wukari-Jootar highway in Nigeria’s Taraba State. Her infant was with her at the time but remained unharmed, the woman’s husband, Konye Timilehin Moses, pastor of Redeemed Christian Church of God, told Morning Star News. He is pastor of a Redeemed Christian Church of God in Jalingo in Taraba State.
In Nigeria’s Plateau State on Nov. 30, seven Christians were killed in attacks upon the villages of Puka and Dinter. Muslim Fulani herdsmen and other bandits are suspected in the attacks.
On Nov. 29, a pastor was among three Christians abducted from Raddi village. Morning Star states that all three were rescued that evening in neighboring Bauchi State.
Nigeria is No. 6 on Open Doors’ 2023 World Watch List of places most difficult to be a Christian. Nigeria has led the world in the number of Christians killed for their faith or kidnapped.
