Facing stress topic of upcoming conference

Strength Under Stress, a conference for pastors, staff members and their families, will be held Feb. 28 from 9 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. at Huffman Baptist Church, Birmingham.

The conference is based on the premise that hope is the central factor in stress and potential burnout in ministry. It will include sessions based on 2 Corinthians 4.

The conference is led by LeaderCare a part of LifeWay Christian Resources. It is sponsored by LifeWay and the Alabama Baptist State Convention.

Speakers include LifeWay President James Draper and Executive Director of the State Board of Missions Rick Lance. Tommy Yessick, a wellness specialist, will lead a conference, as well as Brooks Faulkner, senior LeaderCare specialist. Greg Kirksey, co-pastor of The Church at Rock Creek, Little Rock, Ark., will share his personal testimony of crisis and direction.

LeaderCare provides a ministry of affirmation, nurture and support to ministers and their families through prevention, intervention and restoration. They also maintain a confidential hotline for them at 1-888-789-1911.
