First Church, McCalla, pastor retires

Jerry Batson recently retired from his role as pastor of First Church, McCalla. Batson previously worked as a professor at the Baptist College of Florida in Graceville and the University of Mobile and served as associate dean of Beeson Divinity School of Samford University in Birmingham for 20 years. He writes the weekly column “Theology 101” in The Alabama Baptist.
