God loved us so much that He became one of us for a time (Jesus). He modeled how to live for Him and made sure we would never be alone. He left His spirit with us — for those who believe, confess and relinquish control.

Believing is more than wishful or hopeful; it is absolute confidence and trust that God is who He says He is, that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that the Holy Spirit becomes part of us upon our belief.
Confessing means we acknowledge we have made decisions contrary to God’s perfect will and that we struggle to put Him and others before ourselves.
Following God
From there, relinquishing control falls right in line as we give our heart and lives to God so we can follow where He would have us go and what He would have us do. It’s grasping with complete understanding Jesus’ sacrifice — giving His life for us — on the cross, resurrection and ascension into Heaven.
As we mark the birth of our Savior through the Christmas season, let’s relax into the fullness of His grace through faith and allow His light to shine as we go — showcasing peace, love, joy and hope.
