Gay population

As the father of two Boy Scout Eagle Scouts, I am appalled at the recent decision by the Boy Scout Council allowing gay boys into the organization. 

This is another way of a strong liberal group taking control of a very long-running organization with the highest standards for young men that can be used all of their life. 

As a Christian it is easy to understand the churches’ position on this matter and that many Boy Scout units will be asked to leave some church properties. A lot of boys will sadly be affected if they have no unit. 

The question in my mind is why the emphasis on the gay movement when the last poll I read said only about 8 percent of America’s population is gay. 

That means 92 percent are straight.

I was taught as a young student that our country is a democracy, and that means “the majority rules.” What happened to that premise?

The majority does not want to recognize gays and their agenda, but it is thrust upon us. We should look at history and be reminded that one of the reasons for the downfall of the Roman Empire was the acceptance of homosexuals in their society. 

All I can say is that we pray for our country and remember that God is still in control.
