The Lord showed me the verse “Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred” (Prov. 15:17). Wow, how true it is of the Basotho people here. More than 50 percent of this country lives under the poverty line, and yet the love in some of their hearts — both for God and for others — is enormous.

But there are still so many Basotho who focus only on getting meat — both literally for dinner and those who desire material things. They so quickly forget that it’s not about what you have in your home but who lives in your heart.

The youth conference was wonderful. My co-worker and I were able to teach together and the youth loved it. This is a church that I have worked with since I came in 2002, and I have really seen it grow tremendously during two years. More than one half of the church body is the youth group. They really have a desire to know more of God’s Word and His character. I have to admit that I got emotional sitting in the service and thinking that I only had one more time to worship with these people at this church.

So what’s next? My days are filled now with completing a health care manual with some Bible studies I’ve written for the ladies here. Please pray that it will come together quickly.

I’m slowing starting to prepare my heart to return to the United States. Praise God that He stands still — is the Solid Rock — even when everything is about to change when I move back home. He will not change.

Thanks for being so faithful in interceding for me and the Basotho people.
