“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:28 (NIV)
Devotional Moment
We love it when life is working out well. We’re grateful to be accomplishing our goals, enjoying some simple successes and spending our days with a sense of optimism.
The problem is that when the world turns upside down, we’re taken by surprise, and we don’t understand. We wonder if God knows what is happening to us or even if He cares. We wonder because we’re suddenly feeling lost, like everything is out of control.
The truth is that nothing we experience is a surprise to God. He knows the details of our lives, the ups and downs, because He’s intimately acquainted with us.
If you want to turn your world upright again, spend time with your Father in heaven. He sees you and knows what you need right now. Allow Him to work in all your circumstances and He will guide you forward. When you invite God to work with you, then all things work together for your good.
Prayer
Lord, I confess I feel anxious when life gets a bit crazy and everything feels upside down. I know I need to draw closer to You. Help me lean on You today. Thank You for Your steadfast love and Your bountiful grace and mercy. Amen.
Action Step
Write one thing you can do today to raise your spirits and the spirits of those you know. Give yourself extra points if you actually do what you wrote down.
