May I offer some stark truth on the subject of gun control to Mr. Robert Wilkerson, of Birmingham, who wrote a letter to the editor that was published in the Aug. 2 issue of The Alabama Baptist?
This gentleman has been led off track somewhere as he states, “Guns are responsible for many deaths and injuries every year.” The world would like to see an example of such. Can he produce? Guns have never harmed anyone, but people do. Your idea of gun control only takes weapons out of the hands of those that have the guts to protect themselves and [keeps them] in the hands of those that will harm other human beings.
As a citizen and Christian I am not willing to give up my right to bear arms because that will not save a child or adult life. Please do your research and you will find that states or countries that have removed the right of their citizens to bear arms only cause crime and killings to increase.
