Let me take this opportunity to thank all Alabama Baptists for praying for me during my kidney transplant surgery.
I heard from so many of you who were interceding for Carolyn and me.
After three trips to the hospital, lasting 28 days, everything is in great working order.
It took me nearly two hours to read the cards that so many of you sent. I am where I am because of your faithfulness in lifting my desperate need to our great God and Savior.
Although I shall ever be grateful for the physicians at UAB (University Hospital), I know it is the Lord who gave them the skill to perform this almost miraculous sugery. I expressed this to each of them and most of them agreed.
I must express my never-ending appreciation for Ashley Fisher and her willingness to donate the kidney. Words are inadequate as I try to voice my gratitude to her.
Last but not least, I praise the Lord for a faithful wife who waited on me hand and foot without whom I would have had to go to a nursing home to have my needs met.
God is better than good. I bless His name and praise Him that I am His and He is mine.
