Jody Baker is retiring as minister of education and administration of Hope Community Church (formerly McElwain Baptist Church), Birmingham, after more than 43 years of ministry.
A celebration dinner will be held in her honor Nov. 9, 6 p.m., at Marriott Birmingham. Tickets are available online: hopebhm.org/legacy; register by Oct. 15.
Proceeds will be used to provide a retirement gift and fund the track restoration at McElwain Park in Baker’s honor. More on Baker’s ministry service through the years will follow the event.
