Huntsville presidents

In your excellent convention coverage of Nov. 27, a statement is attributed to Jimmy Jackson that he is only the second person from Madison Baptist Association to serve as president of the convention. He named himself and Dan Ireland of Jackson Way Baptist Church.  

For the record, that is not correct. At least two other Huntsvillians have served as president, both lay members of Huntsville First Baptist: R.E. Pettus, beginning in 1910, and Steve Tondera, beginning in 1987.
