‘Hurt in his eyes’

I just finished reading a piece in the March 7 issue by Jennifer Davis Rash titled, “Did you notice his eyes.” I was blessed by her every word she spoke when she said, “I could see the hurt in his eyes.” This reminds me of another person I remember from a long time ago. A person who at that time was living a life of crime until another person saw in his eyes the hurt and loneliness that was tearing his life apart. This man who saw the hurt put his arms around him and said to him that God loved him and Christ died for sins. A few days later, he trusted Christ as Lord, united with a Bible-believing Southern Baptist church, and for the last 37 years he has worked as a full-time evangelist in the prison ministry, TV ministry, pastored two churches, been on missions trips to Central America and helped feed and clothe the needy.
