Medical missions will be the focus of an International Mission Board conference Willowbrook Baptist Church, Huntsville, will host Jan. 22.
The Medical Missions One Day conference will bring together Southern Baptist doctors, medical workers, missions strategists and volunteers to learn about new health strategies, become better equipped for short-term medical missions, discover service opportunities, network with other health-care professionals and hear about global medical missions.
Dr. Rebekah Naylor, health-care consultant for the Southern Baptist relief agency Baptist Global Response, said the conference also will explore the strategic potential of medical missions. “One of our objectives for these events is to talk about medical missions being strategic … not just going for a week and seeing patients but making this a part of an overall strategy to reach a people group or population,” she said.
