A shooting near the campus of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Leavell College Thursday (Dec. 8) around 12:30 p.m., left one student with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to a report by WDSU-TV of New Orleans, four individuals sustained non-life threatening injuries in the incident. All were taken to local hospitals and are expected to recover.
“NOBTS has taken every precaution to create a safe and secure environment for our students and residents,” said NOBTS president Jamie Dew. “We continue to work to make our campus as secure as possible. We are working with local officials and religious leaders to bring safety and security to Gentilly and the greater New Orleans community.
“Please join us in praying for the family of this student as he recovers at home,” Dew continued. “We pray that God would continue to use NOBTS and Leavell College to shine the light of Jesus Christ in New Orleans.”
