Inspired to act

We just wanted to write in response to the feature page regarding the Jesse Brooks Foundation in the Sept. 3 issue.

My husband and I are houseparents at the Mobile campus of the Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries, and we, too, are asking God every day, “Why in the world are you allowing us to do this?”

It is so true that when God allows you to be a part of His work, it is truly humbling.

Our boys here at Turner Cottage decided after hearing the story of the work being done with the children in Aflao, Ghana, that they wanted to help.

Each boy is giving $5 of his allowance to help these children in the forever ministry of the Solitude Baptist Church in memory of a precious young girl who lives on in their hearts and ours.

They have been given much and want to share as Jesse did in God’s plan. We are so proud of their commitment to God’s work and His promises.

This should spur us as adults on to do more by giving in His name from the abundance of the blessings He gives to each of us.
