ISIS claims responsibility for killing Christian convert

Kurigram, Bangladesh — The Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for the fatal stabbing of a 68-year-old Christian convert in Bangladesh on March 22.

At least two unidentified extremists killed a convert named Hossain Ali in Kurigram after stopping him during his morning walk, according to The Christian Post. The assailants escaped after setting off a molotov cocktail.

According to SITE Intelligence Group, ISIS posted a message to Twitter on March 23 saying it killed Ali, who converted from Islam in 1999. The group threatened that the murder should serve as “a lesson to others” in its message.

Although ISIS claimed responsibility for the murder, Bangladesh police denied the group was involved in the matter.
