Keep God in holidays

Keep God in holidays

Each year I become more concerned and saddened about the acknowledgement of God in our nation, especially during the holidays.

Too many in local governments want to make the public celebration of Christian holidays to be secular only. They allow other symbols but not Christian to represent the day.

Thanksgiving can only be observed by the acknowledgement of the birth of God’s Son, Jesus the Christ and Lord. Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus.

In the Declaration of Independence, celebrated on July 4 each year, our forefathers acknowledged God as Creator, nature’s God and their reliance on the protection of divine providence.

You cannot celebrate any of these holidays without the acknowledgement of God, the holidays’ purposes and their origins.

The only thing secular about them is the dollars that businesses seek to profit from them.

Let us stop letting unbelievers dictate what is done in this nation. Let us maintain the principles established in the founding of this nation and continue to acknowledge God and His Son, Jesus the Christ and Lord, and His providence.
