Legislature concern

Legislature concern

I am writing in regard to the article “Alcohol-related bills moving in state Legislature” in the April 17 issue.

It is troubling that every year there are those in our state Legislature who are more concerned about getting bills passed that are detrimental to the welfare of our people, such as alcohol and gambling. Many of these are professing Christians. Their concern should be for bills about things that would affect our people for good and would enhance a wholesome welfare for all the people of our state.

Their concern should not be for things that are destructive, such as alcohol and gambling, but for things that are constructive that would meet needs and promote morals.
