Letter to the editor — Stand against sin

I do not see why we are responsible to find “common ground” with the LGBT community.

The Word of God holds all the dialogue needed.

You know, as well as most folks, that we have had a continual flow of homosexual behavior and lifestyles throughout our Southern Baptist churches and universities. So it is no surprise as to what Satan is up to. In the garden, he said to Eve, “Surely God did not say that.”

God speaks truth and is just. We do not need to deal with this problem. We need to stand against it. We are not Jesus but He wants us to be like Him.

He turned over tables and called church leaders “vipers and painted statues.”

Will you join me in standing against sin?

As Billy Sunday used to say, “Listen, I’m against sin. I’ll kick it as long as I’ve got a foot. I’ll fight it as long as I’ve got a fist. I’ll butt it as long as I’ve got a head, and I’ll bite it as long as I’ve got a tooth. And when I’m old, fistless, footless and toothless, I’ll gum it till I go home to glory and it goes home to perdition.”
