Lonnie Burnett, vice provost and dean of University of Mobile’s (UM) College of Arts and Sciences, was honored by the Alabama Association of School Boards (AASB) for his work as a member of Saraland City School Board.
Burnett helped to implement an agreement between UM and Saraland and Satsuma city school systems to allow high school students access to dual enrollment opportunities. He also was instrumental in the passage of a $7.5 million ad valorem tax that benefitted all students in Saraland City Schools.
