Meadow Brook Church, Birmingham, along with several area businesses will sponsor the 17th annual Meadow Brook 5K and fun run Dec. 17. Late registration and packet pickup will be from 7:30–8:45 a.m. The 5K race will be at 9 a.m. and will finish around the lakes. The fun run will be at 10 a.m. Wear your jingle bells. The awards ceremony and prize drawings will be at 10:30 a.m. Races begin and end at Aliant Bank on Highway 280 East. There will be T-shirts, indoor facilities, gift bags, prizes and food. Savings bonds will be given to overall winners. The entry fee is a voluntary tax deductible contribution to The JESUS Video Project of Alabama.
