Mentone’s Mount Calvary marks 60 years

Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Mentone, celebrated its 60-year anniversary and homecoming Aug. 18.

Originally established in 1940 as Mount Union Church and School, it joined Lookout Mountain Baptist Association in 1953 as Mount Calvary Baptist. 

According to Lloyd Borden, the association’s director of missions, the church participates in  its PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens) program every Sunday and is “an active supporter of associational missions.” Jack Green is pastor.
