Messengers to the 2023 Alabama Baptist State Convention annual meeting adopted six resolutions during the Nov. 14 afternoon session.
All six came from the resolutions committee, and all passed without discussion or amendment.
Two resolutions honored Alabama Baptist leaders who are retiring in the coming year.

Resolution No. 3 recognized Lonnie Burnett, president of the University of Mobile, who will retire in May 2024 after 45 years in education, 20 of those spent in various roles at UM.
Two resolutions addressed current issues. Resolution No. 5, On Alabama Baptist Churches’ Engagement in Foster Care, Adoption and Supportive Ministries, called on Alabama Baptists to support and encourage care for children in difficult places.
