“Since 1945, Miss America has awarded academic scholarships that help change the trajectory of young women’s lives,” said Robin Fleming, Miss America CEO/Owner and Chairman of the Board of the Miss America’s Scholarship Foundation Inc. “This partnership with Samford University continues that legacy in a meaningful way. A $100,000 scholarship represents a powerful investment in the next generation of leaders who will use their education to create lasting impact in their communities and beyond.”
“Samford University is excited to partner with the Miss America’s Scholarship Foundation and to offer this scholarship opportunity for the national winner of Miss America’s Teen competition,” said Jody Hunt, Samford University’s General Counsel and Vice President for Government Affairs.
Hunt, who also serves as an executive director of the Miss Samford scholarship competition, said the Miss Samford University program has a rich tradition and history of success as an official preliminary to the Miss Alabama and Miss America competitions. Ten Miss Samford titleholders have gone on to become Miss Alabama, and one Samford student has earned the title of Miss America.
