LA VERGNE, Tenn. — Southern Baptist missionary Evelyn Woolridge was remembered as a generous, loving wife and mother during her memorial service at Miracle Baptist Church in La Vergne, Tenn., June 29. Woolridge, 41, died in Nairobi, Kenya, May 26 of pneumonia following elective gall bladder surgery. She is survived by her husband, Michael, and five daughters. Serving in Kenya since 1999, the Woolridge family ministered as international consultants for LifeWay Christian Resources through the International Mission Board. “She fell in love with Africa and the people. She fell in love with the children that she ministered to and worked with,” Michael said.
