As members and guests of Mulga Baptist Church gathered for the church’s 100th anniversary service Nov. 21, they had a lot to celebrate.
“We were amazed as we remembered and heard stories of the cumulative effect of a consistent gospel witness,” Pastor Crantford Hicks said. “You don’t realize the impact a church has until you look back down the path and see the profound difference made by faithful Christians as they affect the lives of others.”
Richard Trader was the special speaker for the service. Mulga Baptist was Trader’s first church to serve as pastor. Music for the day was provided by Kerry and Teresa Sparks, Jim and Nell Branum and Rick Benefield.
Those in attendance heard the church history presented by Fran Baggett and Karen Hyde, along with video and in-person testimonies.
Johnie Sentell of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission presented the church with a plaque.
