A pastor in Nepal is in hiding after a video of his testimony was posted to YouTube.
The video was shot in March at the International Christian Media Workers Summit in Kathmandu. Pastor Sukdev Giri was one of the speakers. A Nepalese Christian woman living abroad posted the video to social media in August.
Giri, pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church in Chitwan District, said he has received death threats from Hindu extremists. His family and friends also are receiving threatening calls, he said.
A spokesperson for the legal advocacy group Alliance Defending Freedom said Giri’s case is “the first time a Christian [in Nepal] has been targeted for sharing [on social media] about his past religion and introduction into Christianity.” (MS)
