Northside pianist/organist retires

Northside Baptist Church, Jasper, in Walker Baptist Association, honors Eva Mae Posey (center), who served as church pianist/organist for 50 years before retiring in September. Pastor David Byrd presented her with a plaque and her son, Sonny Posey, mayor of Jasper, read a proclamation declaring Oct. 6 officially Eva Mae Posey Day. Posey’s father, Jim P. Drummond, was the first pastor of Northside Baptist when it was established in 1928.
