Thank you for publishing “Allergies nothing to sneeze at for some churchgoers” (Feb. 17). I am one of those people who have to run from fragrances. I had to leave the sanctuary Feb. 20 and go to the foyer to listen to the message.
Three allergy doctors tested me and told me I could do one of three things for my allergic condition: move to the desert, live in a bubble or live with my problem. Of course I have to deal with my problem. My problem consists of bronchitis, rhinitis, headaches and costly doctor bills.
Thank you for publishing this article. Maybe it will be read by sympathetic people who will think before they put on perfume. When hundreds of people gather in a closed building and all the chemicals float into the air, those of us who are allergic to the chemicals from which the perfumes are made suffer. The people who wear the perfumes do not want to hurt others.
Maybe this article will educate others of the fact that there are people around them who are allergic to fragrances.
