Thank you for your excellent and insightful editorial concerning compassion in stressful times. You reflected a great deal of compassion on behalf of many of us for both a church and a staff member going through a stressful situation.
The flip side of such a situation is a traditional opportunity to celebrate October as “Pastor (or staff) Appreciation Month.” It is too easy to criticize when we don’t like something. But, it is far better to say and show appreciation for a job well done. During October, I urge each church to plan an expression of appreciation for the God-called leaders who serve so faithfully.
Keep up the good work, and thank you and the very capable staff of The Alabama Baptist paper for the good work you do in keeping all Alabama Baptists motivated to do Great Commission ministries.
