One Silent Night

“One SilentNight” is an album that considers the mysterious events that occurred on that first Christmas night as one young woman gave birth to the Savior of the world. The album is a compilation of songs by some of today’s most well-known female Christian recording artists on which each artist recounts the experience of that blessed night.

The artists involved in this project are Cindy Morgan, Ginny Owens, Rachael Lampa, Erin O’Donnell, Jaci Velasquez, Amy Grant, Leigh Nash (of Sixpence None the Richer), Crystal Lewis, Nicole C. Mullen, Maire Brennan, and Daidra Crawford and Nee-C Walls (of Anointed).

Each of these ladies reflects on the birth of the Messiah. Songs like “I Choose You,” “Mary, Did You Know,” and “Child of God” consider the wonder Mary must have felt as she held the Christ-child in her arms. Other songs like “Joy” and “Angels We Have Heard on High” are celebrations of the event itself. “One Silent Night” approaches the Christmas story in a way that few other recordings have. “One Silent Night” is a musical project that causes the listener to stop and reflect.
