MOSCOW —The Bible League reports that participation in the League’s Bible study programs in Russia has increased dramatically in the last five years, from 5,000 in 1997 to 75,000 in 2001.
The League credits the growth to its “Choose Life” Bible study program and to the fact that program materials have been translated into the languages of minority populations in Siberia. Members of the Tuvin, Khaka, Evenk, Tatar and Buryat ethnic groups have eagerly received the “Choose Life” materials.
Along with study materials, the Bible League distributed more than 1.3 million Bibles and Scripture portions to Russia last year.
