Pastors and staff: A quick tip

Pastors and staff: A quick tip

Being content

Many times ministers find themselves in a place they really don’t want to be. It may be a geographical location or it may be a place in life or ministry. Whether the Lord directly engineered the circumstances or not, He can use our current situation to do a work in our life and ministry.

I found myself in that place in seminary occasionally. I wanted to graduate, move back east and get started in ministry. Somehow God gave me the grace to settle in and finish my degree. The patience and endurance required to finish have proven invaluable in ministry.

There are numerous biblical examples of those who found themselves in places they didn’t want to be. The Israelites grumbled en route to the promised land. Joseph also found himself in places no fault or choice of his own, yet later he was able to say, “You meant it for evil but the Lord meant it for good” (Gen. 50:20). The places Joseph found himself were on God’s path to get him to where he needed to be.

Consider “blooming where you are planted.” It’s possible if you will accept the place where you are, God may move you to another place in His time. Remember, no place in life is permanent.
