The 2017 Paul Stewart Lifetime Service Award was presented to Connie Hale (right) on Nov. 13. The award is given annually by the Alabama Singing Men to one who is a ‘true leader in church music, exhibiting a real calling to the work, modeling strong leadership abilities, showing durability through the years and possessing gifts of encouragement and guidance to those being led.’ Hale is a popular leader at Mix MusiCamp at Shocco Springs, having been involved for more than 30 years with both children’s and youth music.
