Philippines feature

After getting back from Manila Nov. 3, we began going through our mail, which includes The Alabama Baptist newspaper.

There on the front page of the Oct. 29 edition was the story about the flooding in the Philippines, featuring Pastor Derick and Pastor Mac, the two associate pastors of the church to which we returned to help kick off their 50th anniversary.

Bob was pastor there two different times, and these two young men you featured are marvelous examples of God’s love at work. We had a wonderful eight days with them and our church family there, and do they ever exemplify faith and courage.

Thanks so very much for passing on news of our Baptist folk there. They were greatly blessed by the help of disaster relief Baptists from the U.S.

Our former preschool principal is now a pastor’s wife in the worst hit area of Marikina, and we were privileged to go there and see again what the Lord has done.

We truly appreciate all you do to “tell the story” with such skill and impact.
