Pilgrim Rest Baptist involves members in missions

Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Fayette County may be small in size, but is big in caring about missions. There are only about 45 worshipers in the church on an average Sunday, but they have made a difference in the lives of many people.

Among their missions activities is Participation in the Christmas Shoebox Ministry of Samartitan’s Purse. Last year, members of the Ladies Fellowship group started the ball rolling when they prepared 30 gift boxes. The entire church helped in the project this year.

The Ladies Fellowship again prepared gift boxes for Samaritan’[s Purse. Instead of 30 boxes, church members prepared 44 packages loaded with goodies and wrapped in colorful Christmas paper.

“One reason for the increase,” said member Charlotte Howell, “is the letter we received from a little boy in Honduras, who got one of our boxes last year. He was especially thankful for the caramels in the box, so we made sure there were plenty of caramels this year.” (TAB)
