Piney Grove Baptist Church, Ardmore, celebrated its 175th anniversary Nov. 9. During the service video greetings were shown from three former pastors: Joe Plunkett, Ray Stonecypher and Aaron Armstrong, who also gave the closing prayer. Additional special guests included former interim pastor Joey Savell, who led the opening prayer of the service. Special music was provided by the choir. Sue McWhorter, a commissioner of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission, presented a commemorative plaque with pastor Adam Mikel accepting on behalf of the church.
