Politics and Church

Politics and Church

Who could help but agree with Mr. Pearson’s article of March 1. Politics do not belong in the pulpit.

“This is what the Lord almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways” (Haggai 1:7).

In this highly technological and competitive world, it is hard to avoid those things that disconnect the pulpit from God and when it becomes disconnected from the things of God, misfortune follows. Yet God is merciful and provides a way for pastors to consider.

That way is preaching the gospel through faith in Christ. It is unfortunate that many churches do struggle because of political Sunday’s rather than those made from truly considering the way of God.

To those who preach politics instead of the gospel, are you willing to deal with what is affecting your church today? Are you committing the sin of omission? You are neglecting the Bible and your members spiritually.

Many of you will deny your weakness. Many know they are wrong, yet they pretend they are right, so they never feel the comfort and joy of their calling.

Blessed are those who know they are in trouble and have enough sense to admit it.
