I was disappointed to read the recent letter to the editor criticizing the movie “The Passion of the Christ.” This movie has been praised by such strong men of God as James Dobson, Billy Graham, Chuck Colson and the late Bill Bright.
The movie opened my eyes to the unbelievable price Jesus paid to set us free from the wages of our sin. It made me realize how flippantly I treated His sacrifice. The viewing of the movie has caused me to dig deeper in the Word. I have been a Christian for more than 20 years. In those 20 years I didn’t give enough thought to what Jesus did. When you begin to think on that, the love that God has for us becomes amazing, inspiring and humbling.
The movie, for me and for everyone I know who has seen it, has been a stepping stone and not a stumbling block.
