Reward of Adoption

I just wanted to send out a “thank you” to The Alabama Baptist for the articles in the Nov. 15 issue on adoption. I adopted a 13-year-old boy from DHR this year. It has been by far the greatest reward in my life. 

I absolutely believe the greatest missions field lies right before us here in Alabama. 

There are so many children in the foster care system that need permanent and loving homes. In a time when public opinion desires smaller government, we as Christians (and as Baptists) need to be ready to step up to the plate and minister more to the “widows and orphans.”

Thank you and your staff for noting the need and awareness during National Adoption Month.
