Ed Rush, minister of music at First Baptist Church, Demopolis, was named recipient of the Paul H. Stewart Excellence in Service Award by the Alabama Baptist Education/Music Association (EMA) during its recent annual meeting.
EMA held its annual meeting Nov. 12 at University Baptist Church, Huntsville. EMA members also elected officers for 2002. They are: president, Rick Willis, minister of music/education, Bellevue Baptist, Gadsden; president-elect, Vial Fontenot, minister of missions and ministry, First. Tuscaloosa; vice president, Larry Armstrong, associate pastor, Eastern Hills, Montgomery: secretary, Charles Shaddix, minister of music and senior adults, First, Hartselle; treasurer, Johnny Kilgore, associate pastor in the area of music ministries, Ridgecrest, Birmingham.
